Even the side characters were great and well-developed. It was so engaging I love Rory and her witty badassery. I'm seriously considering just reading it again. I was so mad when it was over, I literally howled and threw my Kindle. Rory has to find a way to solve the mystery, protect herself and her clients, get used to a new city without her support systems, and deal with a misogynistic boss.you know, everyday things.
It turns out the position she chose wasn't as safe as she thought it was her predecessor was murdered by lycans, who might also be the clients she's supposed to be protecting. She withheld those credentials and is starting over in Melbourne as a magical social worker to help people and not be in life-or-death situations on the daily.
Aurora is trying to create a more tame life for herself after a traumatic encounter in her job, basically in magical SWAT.
